Hello to everyone!
Sorry it took so long to get our Blog running, but it is up and running now!!!
If you have not dropped by our classroom lately you would not believe the difference.  Everyday it is changing, our once bare walls are now covered with your child's hard work and art.
It has been a very busy start to our school year.  We have been getting everyone settled into their routines, following rules and getting to know each other.
Throughout the school day, we will spend a lot of time working on hands on activities in order to increase our fine motor skills and to help the students learn about monthly themes.  This week we will work hard on Pete the Cat and his four Groovy Buttons.  This activity will help complete our Pete the Cat Unit. (Pictures will be posted tomorrow as the finished products are hanging in our classroom.)
This week we will also begin our Math program by sorting a variety of objects by color and other ways (e.g. foods/not foods, things we ride in/not ride in).  We will continue to work on this concept for a few more weeks.

This week we will also spend a great deal of time outside enjoying the weather.  Until the weather turns cold we will be having our gym classes outdoors in the fresh air.  However, we will continue to have recess separate from the rest of the school for the rest of this week.

Next week, we will be working more on activities to learn to spell and print our names and continue on with sorting objects.

If you have not returned the picture order form, please do so before picture day on September 18th.
