A Small Lot Story Event 3(TOM)
We are so close to the conclusion.
Story Writing
A Small Lot
Event 3(Top of the Mountain)
Well we are close to the conclusion. We are on the Top of the Mountain. The best part of the story. The problem gets solved. When your child writes their TOM they make it appear like Event 1 or 2, but in at the end of it all the problem gets solved. Together we wrote our class TOM. Please remember the TOM usually is a little longer due to the problem being solved.
Later that day, Lily and Hayden were playing farmer
on the lot when a chef dashed to the lot.
He stopped and stared at the space for a while. Out loud he announced, “This would be the
perfect spot for my new French bistro. I
would even have space for a small outdoor patio during the warm summers. I think this space would be fantastic!” I will bring all my friends and family here
tomorrow afternoon to look at this magnificent lot and buy it.” He turned around and held his head high and
strutted away. That evening, Lily and
Hayden were upset. They were terrified
that they would lose their amazing play spot.
Together they came up with a plan that could save their special place. All night long they stayed up and painted
signs, moved flowers, bushes and benches to the vacant lot. By morning the girls had made the empty,
dirty lot into a beautiful community park with a huge painted sign saying, “Welcome to Royal Community Park”. The once empty lot now had colorful flowers, lush
green bushes and blossoming trees. The
lot was decorated with a quiet reading bench and a sandbox for kids to play
in. That afternoon as promised the chef
drove up to the lot with his family and friends. They all looked puzzled at the lot. The chef questioned, “That’s weird, I don’t remember
that sign or the bench? They weren’t
there before?? I can’t build my
restaurant here. This lot is a community
park!” Slowly the chef and his family and friends drove away from the lot.
